Hexham Racecourse lies just south of Hexham in Northumberland and offers fantastic views of the countryside which surrounds the most northerly National Hunt course in England. Hexham is only around 20 miles from Newcastle too. The track is a left-handed National Hunt course of around one and a half miles with quite easy fences but an undulating nature. Despite those easy fences, ten of them in total, the ground can be testing and with Hexham sitting a good way above sea level the weather conditions aren’t always the best, so it does take a tough horse to win around here.

Around 14 fixtures usually take place between March and December, with the principal meetings being;
• Northern Racing Club Day – an evening meeting in late May. Evening meetings are always popular in this part of the world and offer up a really lively atmosphere which jockeys and trainers enjoy.
• Ladies Day – a very popular event and social highlight in this part of Northumberland. The meeting takes place in height of summer in late June when the course is absolutely buzzing.
• Christmas Festival Day – staged in early or mid December, this meeting represents a chance to get the family out over the hectic run-up to Christmas and New Year. Weather permitting of course, the action is always competitive and exciting.

Club Enclosure – there are plenty of food and drink outlets here catering for race goers, who are always well received and particularly in the Pavilion Restaurant. The Curlew Room and also the Chase Bar are in this area too. Hexham Racecourse is placed in a natural amphitheatre so views from right around the course are tremendous, though there is the option in the Club Enclosure of using the Ramshaw Grandstand to gain an even better look at the action. Visitors can visit the Parade Ring and Winners Enclosure either side of the race to give themselves the full experience.
Paddock Enclosure – entrants here can still visit the Parade Ring and Winners Enclosure and have the option of another Grandstand for bird’s eye viewing of the action. The restaurant, numerous bars and fast food outlets provide refreshment for punters and the betting ring is constantly thriving.

As well as in the private boxes, packages can be booked in the following areas too;
